On the terrace of the Celal Sultan Hotel in Istanbul, with the Blue Mosque behind (18 October 2004)

 

hoc erat in votis Istanbul is full of beautiful mosques. Rüstem Paça Camii was built by the grand vizir of Sultan Soliman the Magnificent in 1560. Mostly adorned with floral motives this mosque full of Iznik ceramics is found in the district of the Egyptian Bazaar. 19 October 2004.
